Priceline didn’t want to be a travel agent; it aspired to change the way people bought everything, starting with plane tickets. If a mean-reversion bubble is about the numbers after the decimal point, an inflection bubble is about orders of magnitude. A website, a PC, a car, a smartphone – these aren’t five percent better than the nearest alternative. On some dimensions, they’re incomparably better. A smartphone is a slightly more convenient tool than a PC for taking a photo and quickly uploading it to the internet, but it’s infinitely better at navigation. A car is not just slightly faster and more reliable than a horse (although in the early days of the automobile industry, it was apparently common for pedestrians to yell « Get a horse! » at passing motorists); cars transformed American cities. Modern-day Los Angeles is inconceivable on horseback. The manure problem alone beggars the imagination. The fundamental utility of inflection bubbles comes from their role as coordinating mechanisms.
In other words, each owner of a condo unit has individual title to the space inside of his unit. Sometimes the space is described as beginning with « the paint on the walls. » Each unit owner also has an undivided interest in the physical components of the condo building and land. Condo projects that are built as multi-story apartments are usually recognizable as condos because they don’t have land under each unit. In these developments, the condominium association typically maintains the exterior of the building and common grounds, but not the interiors of the units. An insurance policy is usually held by the association to cover the jointly-owned parts of the property, while the individual owners carry insurance for the interior components of their units. The owners pay a fee to support the maintenance of the common areas. A condominium association makes decisions about expenditures for repairs, and handles administrative work related to the common areas of the project. While some condo projects look like lofts or apartments, others may look like duplexes, townhomes, garden homes, or residences on regular lots.
Neither party must prove that the other is guilty of something. The grounds for divorce are irreconcilable differences, quarrels, and a lack of common interests and values. There are some cases where the court orders the payment of alimony as temporary assistance to one of the spouses for an indefinite period. To make such a ruling, the judge considers such factors as the length of the marriage, the state of health, and age. Other factors include the ability to earn, the current financial situation, and the standard of living. If there are children, the court considers both the guardianship obligations and the issues of child maintenance. The child support depends on each parent’s income since they are responsible for the minor’s life. During the divorce process, the court can direct one spouse to support the other temporarily. Undoubtedly, each party has the opportunity to protect their rights and interests in the frame of the limits permitted. To apply for divorce, at least one of the spouses must have lived in the state for not less than six months.
Our Episcopal brethren exercise a most laudable diligence in placing the volume which contains their articles, forms, and offices, in every family within their reach which belongs to their communion, or can be considered as tending towards it. Our Methodist and Baptist brethren, with no less diligence, do the same, with respect to those books which exhibit the doctrines and order of their respective denominations. All this is as it should be. It bespeaks men sincere in their belief, and earnest in the dissemination of what they deem correct principles. Why is it that so many ministers of the Presbyterian Church, with a Confession of Faith, and Catechisms, which, I verily believe, and which the most of them readily acknowledge, are by far the best that were ever framed by uninspired wisdom from the four agreements and with a Form of Government and Discipline more consentaneous with apostolical practice than that of any other church on earth are yet so negligent, not to say so indifferent, as to the circulation of these formularies?
